Lydia had seen a video on Korean barbecue, and it looked fun! Maybe with less alcohol than in the video. She didn't trust some of you not to catch yourselves aflame. But fun! So she had made inquiries of the tiny internet in her phone, and instructed the Supper Club to meet her this time in the suburbs of Baltimore for a Korean barbecue and hot pot dinner.

She didn't know what a hot pot was, actually. But she was looking forward to finding out.

"Miss Skywalker, good evening," Lydia greeted her. "Apparently we shall be cooking our own food tonight. Like a little adventure."

Rey blinked. "You go to a restaurant to cook your own food?"

"It's an experience, apparently," Lydia explained.

"Perfect for a week of new experiences," she said. "I feel like they'd do a better job, though."

They were professionals!

"One would think so, wouldn't they? I should hardly be trusted to cook anything."

"Do you not do it at all?" Rey asked.

"Well, I have, when I had to," Lydia allowed.

"Our cook tried to teach me a few things before she sent me off on my own." If Rey had known anything about Regency gentlewomen and what was expected of them this would have set off alarm bells in her head. "I'm afraid it didn't really sink in. But I can make a potion, of course. I keep expecting some of the skills should transfer."

"I would think so. It's all basically just chemistry, right?"

She'd only had experience with one potion so she imagined they were all pretty similar.

"Chemistry is what Georgiana does," Lydia said. "It sounds horrid. All those formulas and letters and numbers and whatnot. Sometimes things explode."

So that part wasn't that different from her cooking, at least.

"On purpose?" Rey checked.

"Allegedly," Lydia said.

She wasn't sure she believed it.

"A worrying answer," Rey said. "But as long as everyone keeps all their parts..."

"I suppose that's true of many things," Lydia said. "Hopefully not of whatever it is we are to do tonight."

"If dinner comes to that we'll have to start rethinking plans," Rey said.

"I am sure everything will be fine!" Lydia assured her, possibly with too much confidence. "We did all right with the crabs, didn't we?"

You just had to smash the crabs with a hammer, though, not cook them.

There was a reason she did all the cooking when she'd been with Silver and it was because neither of them wanted to die.
