Lydia must confess to a total ignorance of the cuisine of Ethiopia--and, indeed, of the nation of Ethiopia--but she had thought, upon stumbling across an Ethiopian restaurant in her search for the Supper Club's next destination, that that was what Supper Club was all about, wasn't it?

So here she was, at Tabor, waiting for her friends and fellow Supper Clubbers to join her. It smelled fantastic in here, she must say, although she did so hope Ethiopia wasn't one of those nations that was enamored of the chile pepper.

Yelena didn't want to be the first to arrive for anything and yet here she was looking around the restaurant feeling just the slightest bit of awkwardness.

"You're back," Rey greeted her.

"I've never really had Ethiopian before and wanted to give it a shot," Yelena said, looking over the menu. "How has my favorite co-worker been doing?"

"Good. Very busy," she said. "Anything exciting for you?"

"Other than some weird music being played whenever I walked around Stark Industries," Yelena replied. "This place is so strange."

"It doesn't get any less," Rey said, fondly. "Was it the classical music?"

"Yeah but mine was getting a heavy Russian vibe," Yelena said with an eyeroll. "I didn't hear anything today so I'm just assuming it was Jarvis messing with my head."

"I always assume it's just Fsndom," Rey said. "I get things like that in my warehouse, too."

Yelena's eyebrow was raised at you Rey. "A warehouse? Interesting. What are you storing in this warehouse?"

"Mostly an obstacle course," Rey said. "I train in there. It's... not average."

Lydia was deeply relieved to not be waiting alone any more. There was always the slight fear that this would be the week no one would show up. "Miss Belova! Welcome! Did you have any trouble finding the place?" She always had this fear when they ventured off the island.

That and the fear that Captain Flint would be hit by a truck.

"Oh, I just punched the restaurant in the phone and let it take me wherever it told me," Yelena said with a shrug. "Seemed to work fine. How are you doing Miss Bennet?"

"Some people have difficulties with that sort of thing," Lydia said. Not her. Couldn't be her. But, say, Flint.

Probably Logan. He was old.

"I'm doing quite well, thank you," she said politely. "I'm rather enjoying the warming weather. And yourself?"

"Well the cold doesn't typically bother me," Yelena said with a shrug. "But I will say I miss the beach resort the school took us too. So, yes, less bulky clothing and getting a chill when walking my dog."

"I'm afraid I have learned I am meant for temperate climes," Lydia mused. "Newcastle was too cold," or perhaps it would have been fine if they'd been able to afford coal, "and Sainte Josephine too hot. Or perhaps I'm just picky," she shrugged. "You have a dog? I'm more of a cat person, myself, but dogs are perfectly nice animals." Unless you asked Kitty.

Rey was really enjoying having a reason to see more of the mainland, so she'd been walking around for a bit before coming in.

"I like this area."

"It does seem quite nice, doesn't it?" Lydia asked. Granted, she was starting from the standards of the Regency, so everywhere seemed terribly clean to her, but that was beside the point. "I'm so glad you made it, Miss Skywalker. Do you know anything about the food of Ethiopia?" Someone had to, right?

"I don't. All my knowledge of Earth food is from this club or the island," Rey admitted. "But it smells amazing and the online menu has shareable meals."

"That might be the way to go," Lydia mused. "That way we can try more things." For science!

"It's becoming my go-to," Rey admitted. "The best way to figure out what I like is to try as much as possible."

And then she added, "Or I'm greedy."

Yes, the word that described her best.

"Nothing wrong with being a bit greedy," Lydia said stoutly. "You can ask anyone in my family; they will tell you it is one of my many faults."

Mr. Darcy probably would not say that, actually.

"Really?" Rey asked, like she clearly never would have figured.

"Oh, yes," Lydia agreed quite cheerfully. "I am terribly selfish, and vain as well. You can ask anyone back home."

Listen, she wasn't wrong about the vanity?

"I would not have assumed," Rey admitted.

Percy meanwhile just looked slightly out of place with his fantasy realm out fit in this restaurant. He also seemed to be very confused looking at the menu as there was not a sigle thing on it he could recognize other than some of the proteins.

That made two of them! Well, three, with Rey. "Lord Percival!" Lydia exclaimed, and curtseyed. "Welcome, sir, I'm so glad you could join us."

"Ah, Ms. Bennet," Percy said returning the curtsey with a small bow. "Happy to be here especially with such an interesting cuisine."

"I think it shall be," Lydia said. "It smells very good, at least. I must admit to complete ignorance in the matter, but we shall learn together. Miss Skywalker was pointing out that they have meals meant for sharing, so you can try more things. I thought that sounded fun."

"Having trouble?" Rey asked.

"Oh, not specifically trouble," Percy admitted with an embarrassed expression.. "More just some confusion. This cuisine is rather unfamiliar to me and I'm afraid I don't have any context for it."

"I usually pick at random," she admitted. "And things low on spices. Or I ask Ignis."

Flint did not get hit by a truck, but he'd definitely given a Lyft driver an earful on his way over from the portal. (Flint had only now figured out crosswalks. Ooops.)

"Good evening," he said, sniffing the air warily.

Those crosswalks were wily.

"Captain Flint, welcome!" Lydia greeted him. "We're always so pleased you can join us!" And not be immured in your books.

But there was just so much to read!

Flint smiled. "I'm pleased to join you for--" he paused. "--how is the word pronounced?"

"Is that reaction good or bad?" Rey wondered.

"I haven't decided yet," Flint admitted.

"Go with good," she advised.

"Have you had this food before?" Flint asked.

"I have not. I'm excited for it, though," she said. "I've started looking up the menus before I leave."

She'd been on Earth for like eight years or something.

"How are you doing that?" Flint asked.

"Have we not taught you about Google?" Rey asked.

"I have refused to learn," Flint said with a smile.

"Then unfortunately, my answer is Google," she said

"Is that where Miss Bennett learns about hair ribbons?"

"...Possibly. I've never looked that up." Shocking no one.

"She was very enthusiastic about them," Flint said. Scarily so.

Some may be more surprised by the lack of silverware than others.
