Lydia had in effect spun the wheel and landed on Korean food this week, which she was both excited and nervous about as it was entirely new to her. Hopefully one of the other supper clubbers would have some familiarity to share...especially once it became apparent you were supposed to cook the food, as she was at present completely ignorant to that.

She did hope everyone was able to find the place without any trouble. Perhaps she should start arranging portals? Something to think about.

Maybe try a bubble tea!

Rey had never had Korean food and she was pretty excited about it. Was this going to be a case of her having to point at something random on the menu because she couldn't decide? Probably!

"Miss Skywalker," Lydia greeted her. "Are you perhaps familiar with the nation of Korea?" she asked hopefully. "I must confess my total ignorance."

"Not at all," she admitted. "I've heard of some of the food, but I'm not sure what any of it actually is. It'll be a little adventure."

"Then you know more than I," Lydia told her, "but we shall learn together, I suppose."

"That's why we're here," Rey smiled. "I also keep thinking about whether it's worth seeing if anyone would want to go anywhere after dinner when we come out here."

Not her idea, not her fault.

"Oh!" Lydia exclaimed. "I hadn't thought about that, but that's a splendid idea! I'm sure there's all sorts of fun to be found."

Someone was gonna get arrested.

"It's Adrian's idea." Again, credit/blame. "I'm just not sure what to do. I don't exactly get out much."

Thus the point. And dressing up.

"Oh, then we must get you out more," Lydia decreed. "Are you particular friends with Mr. Blackwood, then?"

It was probably for the best for Rey that Lydia wasn't the matchmaking sort of gossip.

"No more than anyone wise here, I think," she said. "I think he's just encouraging."

"I wouldn't have said so, but then, he did encourage me to go fight the dragon that tried to eat me when I was fifteen," Lydia mused.

No, she still wasn't over that. She was also still rather hoping that if she ignored the problem long enough it would go away.

"But it's lovely that he encourages you in more pleasant pursuits!" It showed there was hope for Adrian after all, if you asked Lydia.

Rey blinked. "He encouraged you to fight a dragon?"

"He seemed to think it was a good idea, when obviously it is not," Lydia scoffed.

That might not be exactly how that conversation had gone, but, you know, Lydia.

"You'd know better than either of us," Rey said slowly, with the tone that was that she kind of wanted to hear both sides of that.

Flint didn't almost get run over tonight! Progress!

"Drink," he commanded immediately. "Strong one."

"Bad day or bad commute?" Rey checked.

"Can it be both?" Flint asked.

"There's no rule against it," she agreed.

"Then let's say it's been both," Flint said. "How has your day been?"

"Fairly normal. Training, then this. I did have an easier time getting here, though," she admitted.

"I still being in the genuinely modern world disconcerting," Flint admitted.

"That's hardly surprising. It's a three hundred year difference and then you add in cars."

And they didn't even fly.

"Captain Flint!" Lydia greeted him. "Have you had a 'bubble tea' before, sir? I was thinking of getting one." She was assuming it was one of those fizzy drinks, but tea-based. She was destined to be surprised.

"I have not," Flint admitted. "I've only had real tea. Shall we risk it?"

"The point of these little adventures is to try new things, is it not?" Lydia mused. "Although I'm not sure about bubbles in tea, but who knows? It might be delightful!"

Flint looked less sure about that, but he was not about to disappoint Miss Bennet. "It is," he said.

Maybe cook your own food!

Yeah, hadn't expected to cook when going out to eat. She'd manage it! She was a capable person! But.

"So this is new," Rey noted.

They were absolutely going to burn something.

"Are tables supposed to have stoves in them?"

"Not usually," Rey said, peering at it. "I think it's supposed to be cooked here. I don't know why..."

"We have to cook our own food?" He'd exploded a potato in the microwave, Rey. This was a terrible idea.

"We can figure it out," she said, not incredibly bothered. "It's strange, but doable."

"You may be the cook," Flint said with a smile.

"All right," she said. "I know you've had worse cooking."

She knew.

"He's an absolutely shit cook," Flint said, eyes twinkling.

"I'm extremely aware," she agreed, like all of her attempted lessons hadn't ended in something dirty so it was kind of her fault too.
