Llamas' Corner, Baltimore, Maryland, Thursday Evening

As with Charming Elephant previously, Lydia was bound to be disappointed by the lack of truth in advertising of Llamas' Corner. Where were the llamas? Oh, in the decor? They should be serving her London Fog latte.

Well. They were already here, and she supposed the place was quite charming, anyway. She did so hope nothing ill befell her dress; she seemed to be having the most rotten luck with that this week!

Welcome to Supper Club, everyone! No llamas were involved in the food preparation.

Comment upon the lack of llamas.

Oh, if anyone thought Ignis wasn't going to be leaving here with several bags of coffee for home, had they really ever even met him?

A few bags in particular were slated for stocking the Ravnica townhouse for the following week, as well. Sure, there was a café incredibly close, but that place was categorically terrible, and so bringing off-plane coffee felt like satisfyingly performative pettiness on his part.

Lydia fully supported this course of action, even if it did involve coffee, which was categorically horrid. She was rather fond of performative pettiness, herself.

"Professor Scientia, good evening, sir! I do apologize for the lack of llamas."

"Miss Bennet," Ignis nodded his greeting as usual, but the following statement was clearly at the forefront of his attention, "I can't say I have ever had anyone apologize to me for the lack of llamas before, so allow my to assure you that there is nothing to worry about in that regard."

"I did think there would be llamas, though," Lydia sulked. "I should quite like to have seen how they prepared the coffee with their...hooves?" Did llamas have hooves?

"Not quite hooves," Ignis offered, "if I'm not mistaken, but I'm hardly an expert on the matter. And I rather just assumed it was a clever little name with a nod to a rather popular animal in the areas from which they source their coffee...Peru, Bolivia, that area of the world. I suppose a café run by llamas isn't too far out of the realm of possibilities, but I do find that a certain flair for whimsy tends to drop significantly on this side of the causeway."

"Yes, I suppose I have been rather spoiled by our island," Lydia sighed. "I keep forgetting not all of the future is quite like it." Fandom, get on it. Llamas take over the Perk, let's go.

Ignis couldn't help being just a bit amused at the idea that llamas running coffee shops might be considered a feature of the future and not simply a variation on dimension, but he tried to keep it tamped down for Lydia's sake, as she did sound genuinely disheartened.

"Perhaps one day," he encouraged. "Surely, at some point, you'll be able to happen upon an animal-themed restaurant that truly does boast a staff of that titular creature, though I will admit. It'll likely not be in this Baltimore."

"This Baltimore should really try harder, then," Lydia decided.

Look, it made sense to her.

"Perhaps," Ignis mised, "you could write a strongly-worded letter to the City Council."

Ignis, no.

All right, fine, Rey was going shopping. She didn't have a ton of clothes to start, and at this point she was left with workout clothes she didn't wear much. So hopefully she was okay to wear a sports bra and high rise leggings like half the women out on the mainland because her only other options were shenanigans shirts. Those seemed more offensive in a restaurant setting than looking too casual.

Why did any of you have normal clothes still. Why.

Well, it certainly wasn't what Lydia would have worn, but Lydia was a poor yardstick in this as in many regards.

As for why Lydia still had clothes left, it was obviously because she owned far too many clothes. You could try that?

"Miss Skywalker!" Lydia greeted her. "Welcome!" In your...skin-tight underwear...no, no, Lydia mustn't judge.

It wasn't really any tighter than what she might normally wear, don't shame. The sports bra was more than usual but they were basically outdoor clothes anyway these days!

"How do you still have good clothes?" Were they not covered in slime or drinks??

You just keep telling yourself that, Rey.

"I own rather a lot of dresses," Lydia said in total honesty. "People own more clothes now than they did in my time. It's quite normal," she said defensively. (You just keep telling yourself that, Lydia.)

"I guess it comes in handy at times like this," Rey said, not at all sulking.

"We could go shopping sometime?" Lydia suggested. "I could help you expand your wardrobe!" And probably pick up a few things for herself in the bargain, lbr.

You know. Sometime when the stores had inventory. So not soon enough to be of any help.

"Actually, yes please," Rey replied. "It's been very clear lately that I am not prepared for a lot of things."

Like the whole last month.

Oh, no, have you spilled your coffee?

Lydia, you should probably not want the coffee to be prepared by llamas. They spit.
